Online Submission of Abstracts
The Scientific Committee invites authors to submit abstracts for consideration to participate in the program.
The submission must be made electronically in Word format (.doc). Refer to the guidelines below for formatting instructions. Submit your abstract to cnorman@sri.utoronto.ca.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee.
Deadline for submission of abstracts: October 15, 2008.
Topics
The Meeting will address experimental pathogenesis for animal retroviruses, as well as HTLV. The sessions will focus on the whole viral lifecycle (entry, integration, replication), as well a host reactions (pathogenesis, immunity).

Guidelines for Preparing Abstracts
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be submitted electronically to cnorman@sri.utoronto.ca with subject line: ABSTRACT-20TH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON RETROVIRAL PATHOGENESIS. Please ensure that your submission follows the format outlined below.
- No alternative abstract submission via mail or fax will be accepted. The deadline for submission is October 1st, 2008. Abstracts received after this date will not be considered.
- Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.
- Please indicate whether you would prefer an oral and/poster presentation in the body of the email.
- Notification of the form of presentation will be made in October 15, 2008.
- Abstracts accepted in the workshop will be published in the abstract book.
- All presenting authors must register as a participant by October 1st, 2008, to ensure inclusion of their abstracts in the program.
Titles and Authors
- The title should be concise (maximum of 2 lines), types in upper and lower case, bold characters.
- Font should be ARIAL 12 (including symbols).
- The name(s) of the author(s) should be typed in upper and lower case characters – last name first, followed by the first name. Use commas to separate the authors’ names. The names of the presenting author should be underlined.
- Do not include titles or degrees.
- Group authors by their affiliations marked by a superscript number after each name (not necessarily use superscript if only one author).
- In addition to the institutional affiliation, include the city, state / province and country (but not the street address and zip code).
Body of Abstract
- The text of the abstract should be no longer than one page.
- Font should be ARIAL 10 (including symbols).
- Special characters must be inserted into the document.
- Ensure that your abstract is grammatically correct and free of typographical errors.
- Abstracts will not be edited after their submission.
- Use single spacing throughout the abstract.
- The text of the abstract should be a single paragraph with no sections.
- Do not include figures in the abstract.
- Abbreviate terms when used more than twice.
- When using abbreviations, define it at its first occurrence. Do not use abbreviations in the title of the abstract.
Submission Procedure
After converting the abstract into PDF, submit the form as an attachment to cnorman@sri.utoronto.ca with subject line: ABSTRACT-20TH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON RETROVIRAL PATHOGENESIS.
A confirmation email indicating a successful submission will be sent to the email address used to send the abstract within two to three business days (at the latest). If you have any concerns or want to confirm if your abstract has been received successfully, do not hesitate to email cnorman@sri.utoronto.ca.
